Shaun Williamson


Shaun’s career started with a variety of jobs including Postman, a stint in the Navy and working on Wines & Spirits at Safeway’s. He then gained experience as a rep for Pontin’s and 18 -30’s Holidays. Latterly he was a singer in a local band and he then joined an amateur dramatics group. Realising he had a talent for acting he set up his own amateur group and staged a production of “A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg” for which he won Best actor in the Kent Drama Festival.  He then successfully won a place and completed a three-year acting diploma with distinctions at The Webber Douglas Academy.

In the theatre he made his West End debut in ‘Saturday Night Fever’ playing Monty The DJ, and played the role again on a No.1 nationwide tour. He has also starred as Nathan Detroit for ATG on tour in GUYS & DOLLS, played the Narrator in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’, Ron in NEVER FORGET and played the lead role in the UK premiere of the US play THE ROAD TO NIRVANA at the Kings Head. Recent theatre includes ‘Fletch’ in the No.1 UK tour of ‘Porridge’ and ‘Louis’ in THE LADYKILLERS. Shaun also starred opposite Max Irons in FARRAGUT NORTH at The Southwark Playhouse.

On screen, he is best known for playing ‘Barry Evans’ in the BBC’s ‘EastEnders’, in which he appeared for 9 years. He has also appeared in THE BILL, RAPUNZEL (BBC Fairytales), HOLBY CITY, INSPECTOR MORSE, LONDON’S BURNING, NEW TRICKS, WAITING FOR GOD, FUNLAND, BEDLAM, BREMNER BIRD & FORTUNE, and 3 series starring in the BBC’s SCOOP. With Ricky Gervais he starred in 2 series of the ‘EXTRAS’ and ‘LIFE’S TOO SHORT’. Most recently he appeared in the US mini-series HOUDINI with Adrien Brody, and guest starred in ITV’s PLEBS.

On film he has appeared in DAYLIGHT ROBBERY and Ricky Gervais’s THE INVENTION OF LYING.

Shaun regularly appears in cabaret and working with an 11-piece Soul Band. He is a versatile and accomplished Stand-Up comedian, Singer and After Dinner Speaker. He was subject of ‘This Is Your Life’, won ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ and ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ as Meatloaf and appeared in ‘Comic Relief’s Fame Academy’. Shaun has also presented 24 Hour Quiz, live daily, for ITV1, appeared on the ITV prime time show ‘Tough Gig’ and ITV’s BACK ON THE JOB.

Shaun’s most recent work includes a guest role in an episode of BBC comedy PLEBS and a national tour of the RNT’s ONE MAN TWO GUVNORS, playing Charlie Clench, and ANYTHING GOES playing Moonface Martin.
