Ben Lewis


Ben trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and since graduating in 2004 has performed extensively on stage and screen.

Most recent theatre credits include: Forbidden Broadway (Menier Chocolate Factory and West End), Candide (Menier Chocolate Factory), and Therese Raquin (Finborough Theatre). Ben played The Phantom in the original Australian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, Love Never Dies directed by Simon Phillips (The Really Useful Company). For his performance Ben received a Helpmann Award nomination and won the Judith Johnson Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical at the 2012 Sydney Theatre Awards.

Other theatre credits include: Carl-Magnus in A Little Night Music (Opera Australia), Sir Galahad in Spamalot (Original Australian cast) directed by Mike Nichols, Urinetown (Sydney Theatre Company), Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical (Original Australian cast), The Odyssey (Malthouse and Black Swan Theatre Company), Side by Side By Sondheim (Theatre Royal), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (WildRumpus), The Windows Project (Darlinghurst Theatre), Metro Street (Production Company).

Film and television credits includes: The Phantom in Love Never Dies (Universal Pictures/The Really Useful Company), Doctors (BBC Television), McLeod’s Daughters (Channel 9 Australia), Carols by Candlelight (Channel 9 Australia)

Ben has also recorded Original Cast Albums for Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Priscilla Onstage) and Morgan’s Run (ABC Classics/Symphony Australia), worked extensively as a concert artist, and has worked in radio drama for the BBC.
